Needless to say, there hasn’t been a more dominant team in the NBA during the past decade (and possibly even longer) and when combined with playing in South Beach, what more could you ask for if you’re a player on the Heat?
Not a lot. That’s why many believe LeBron James and Dwayne Wade will re-up with the Heat whenever their contracts expire, be it because they exercised their player options or because the contract ran its course.
But what about Chris Bosh? Thought of as the third-wheel, multiple teams are said to be interested in the power forward and he’s set to cash in if he’s to test the open market this offseason. But that doesn’t sound as if it will be the case as the veteran said he’d be willing to take a pay cut to remain with the Heat.
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t want to go anywhere,” Bosh said during an appearance on ESPN Radio’s The Dan LeBatard Show, via Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post. “I like it here. It’s Miami. Everybody wants to come here.”
Hard to blame him. Sure, he’ll lose out on some money, but that doesn’t appear to be the most important factor in Bosh’s career desires.
Playing in one of the most beautiful cities in the country, for a dominant Miami Heat franchise, all while getting an eight-figure salary? Tough living.
