Many have always expected Love to eventually sign with the Los Angeles Lakers because he is a native of Santa Monica, California and played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins. The Chicago Bulls are also believed to be a contender for Love. They need a scorer like him and he would be a fantastic fit next to center Joakim Noah, the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year. The Golden State Warriors would also like to upgrade from David Lee to Love and the Houston Rockets would very much like to add a third superstar to Dwight Howard and James Harden.
Of course, any team would like to add Love, but another team that has had their name tossed around with Love are the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are armed with several assets from their trade with the Brooklyn Nets and Love was in Boston vacationing over the weekend.
According to John Krawcynski of The Associated Press, Timberwolves’ president Flip Saunders expects Love to play for the Timberwolves next season.
Love averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game last season.
