It was a sour week for Peter Vermes’s Sporting Kansas City. On Tuesday, they drew 1-1 with the New York Red Bulls at Sporting Park. Toni scored in the ninth minute of play for Sporting. Then, on Saturday, Sporting Kansas City were shut out, 1-0, by D.C. United at RFK Stadium. Sporting will need to get their act together when they travel to BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Tex. to take on the Houston Dynamo. Blas Perez scored in the 16th minute but FC Dallas were unable to hold on late and fell, 2-1, to the San Jose Earthquakes at Toyota Stadium. It didn’t help matters that Adam Moffat was sent off in the 37th minute for two yellow cards. Dallas will be licking their wounds when they face the Colorado Rapids at home on June 7.
