USMNT news: Balogun to MLS, Musah to Milan, Sonora leaves Juarez

Today’s USMNT news includes Folarin Balogun saying that he could play in MLS one day. Yunus Musah’s move to AC Milan appears to be getting closer, whilst Alan Sonora has left FC Juarez. 

USMNT news: Folarin Balogun to MLS

Folarin Balogun will likely leave Arsenal this summer for another club in Europe. The American forward has been heavily linked to Inter Milan. According to CBS Sports, “Inter are ready to test Arsenal’s lofty price tag for U.S. international Folarin Balogun with a €40 million bid.”

The player, who was born in New York, has left the door open for a move to North America later in his career. Favian Renkel has quoted Balogun being asked about moving to MLS. The Arsenal man said “My focus for now is in Europe and trying to just do the best I can. I’m sure you never know what could happen in football. I’m sure at the end of my career or towards the end, it might be an option.”

Balogun moving to MLS is way off right now but you can see how much the striker has enjoyed American life since switching to represent the USMNT from England. A move at the end of his career to the USA appears likely. It would be fitting to see him play for one of the teams from the city of his birthplace; New York City FC or the New York Red Bulls could be good options for Balogun.

USMNT news: Yunus Musah to AC Milan

Yunus Musah looks to be edging closer to a transfer to AC Milan from Valencia. At the Italian club, he would be reunited with Christian Pulisic and the duo could be facing off against Folarin Balogun in the Milan derby next season.

Fabrizio Romano has updated us on Musah’s situation. The transfer expert tweeted “AC Milan are now planning to advance in talks with Valencia for Yunus Musah — new round of negotiations soon. USMNT midfielder has agreed personal terms with Milan weeks ago, he wants the move.”

USMNT news: Alan Sonora leaves FC Juarez

Alan Sonora who only joined FC Juarez in February this year -playing just eight times- has now left the Mexican team. Juarez revealed the news on their official Twitter account saying “By mutual agreement we have terminated our employment relationship with Alan Sonora.”

Sonora was born in New Jersey but is yet to play in America as he started his career with the Argentine side Independiente before moving to Mexico. Now he is a free agent a move to MLS could be an option for the USMNT player.
