Today’s USMNT news includes Gregg Berhalter welcoming Lionel Messi to Inter Miami. Also, AC Milan is targeting Yunus Musah and Malik Tillman has been linked with Stuttgart.

USMNT news: Gregg Berhalter welcomes Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi was announced as an Inter Miami player last night and the USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter welcomed him to MLS.

As part of Inter Miami’s presentation for Messi, Berhalter said in a pre-recorded message “Hey Leo, this is Gregg Berhalter. I want to welcome you to Inter Miami and the United States.”

Messi’s arrival is up there with Pele joining the New York Cosmos and David Beckham signing for LA Galaxy in American soccer history. It is a huge move that will create an even bigger soccer buzz in the country ahead of the 2026 World Cup which the USA are co-hosting.

USMNT news: Yunus Musah to AC Milan

AC Milan has recently captured Cristian Pulisic from Chelsea and the Italian side might not yet be done with signing USMNT players.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that “Milan will contact Valencia again for Yunus Musah.” It would certainly be an exciting prospect to see Pulisic and Musah lining up together for the Rossoneri.

Musah has also been linked with West Ham -who are looking for a replacement for Declan Rice- and Fulham where he could be united with fellow Americans Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson.

Milan would be the most tempting club for Musah as they have Champions League soccer. The midfielder spent his youth career at Giorgione in Italy and in England with Arsenal. All of the teams interested can offer him a return to a place he used to call home.

USMNT news: Malik Tillman to Stuttgart

Malik Tillman of Bayern Munich has been linked with Rangers, Brighton, Brentford and Eintracht Frankfurt this summer. A recent report has revealed that another Bundesliga side in Stuttgart could also be in for the USMNT player.

According to Kicker, Stuttgart’s manager Sebastian Hoeness recently met with Tillman but the German website admitted that the midfielder is in demand and a move to the club is unlikely.
