The Minnesota Timberwolves are starting to come to the realization that they need to trade Kevin Love before they lose out on all the value he provides to them in a swap. Some believe that there’s a chance Love could end up like LaMarcus Aldridge and fall in love with the Wolves if they start winning — but that requires winning.

Sean Deveney of The Sporting News states that Timberwolves aren’t rushing into a deal to trade Kevin Love but know what they want should they move him to a new team. Deveney reports that Minnesota is looking to acquire lottery picks in a trade for Love and are talking with teams in that region to see what could happen.

"The Timberwolves have put out feelers on what possible offers might be on the table for Love on draft night. Despite their public protestations, around the league, front office executives say that the market for Love is open, but the initial asking price is high. While the Timberwolves would expect lottery draft choices in return for Love—including a high pick in this draft—they also want a young player with star potential, according to a source."

It will be interesting to see what happens with Love as there is clear interest from the rest of the league in acquiring him but the Wolves remain in denial about losing him. But as the draft approaches, so too does zero hour for the Wolves to make a move as they cannot afford to lose out on his value and if he’s not going to re-sign then he needs to be traded sooner rather than later.
