Milwaukee Brewers fan falls into bullpen during game

Was there a full moon yesterday? Was it Wild and Wacky day at MLB parks? There must be some explanation for all the madness of yesterday’s action. First, there was the reporter who lost his laptop to a foul ball. Now, in a much scarier incident, there was a fan who took a big fall in the bullpen at a Milwaukee Brewers game.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Brewers reliever Brandon Kintzler was about to warm up when some dude came flying out of the sky. Let’s take this quote by quote and break it down.

"“He was on the ground before I started warming up,” Kintzler said after the game. “I thought he died. We were sitting there and (bullpen catcher) Marcus (Hamel) yelled, ‘Oh, gosh!’We saw the net (over the bullpen area) come flying down. I think the net caught him, then he just face-planted. He didn’t move for a few minutes. I thought he was dead.It’s not something you want to see. They’re basically giving this guy CPR and I had to warm up. It was tough. It’s not the best thing to see at the time.”"

‘Oh, gosh!’ is a pretty apt response to a guy falling out of the sky into your warmup space. I can only think of more vulgar varieties of that same phrase as a more realistic reaction.

Thankfully, the Washington Post reports the man will presumably be all right after all, which means this story has a much happier ending then it otherwise could have.
