Teams are playing warm-up friendly matches, rosters are being tweaked due to injuries and debates about who will win it all are raging. Very soon all the debates will stop as the games finally get under way, but for now, enjoy this awesome World Cup commercial.
It’s a Beats by Dre spot, but it fells almost more like a short film. It begins with Neymar’s dad talking to him about giving it his all, as Neymar enters the stadium to savage reporters demanding a few words from him.
Then it breaks into various shots of players preparing–either in the weight room, in the locker room or in the tunnels of the arena–and fans celebrating. Of course there are cameos from LeBron James, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Stu Scott, because soccer is important to everyone, or something like that.
It’s five minutes long, but it’s definitely worth a watch as it does a fantastic job of showing just how dramatic and important the World Cup is to everyone who watches.
