The NBA trade season is back in full swing as teams are starting to look ahead to the draft and see what they need to do to acquire what they think will take them to the next level. For some teams, that acquisition is either of draft picks or players drafted out of this year’s class.

More from Denver Nuggets

For the Denver Nuggets — a team that is rebuilding — they apparently think Kevin Love is what they need and have reportedly put in a trade offer to try and acquire him from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Darren Wolfson from ESPN1500 in Minneapolis firmly believes any such deal will not happen as Love won’t sign long-term in Denver.

Love being traded to the Nuggets would be a waste for the Wolves and the Nuggets. Not only would Love not re-sign with Denver and leave next summer, but Minnesota wouldn’t be getting back half as good an offer as they would in Boston, Golden State, Phoenix or Chicago.

It’s a highly unlikely scenario to play out, and Denver is likely going to quietly exit the room as the Warriors and Wolves continue to shout over which deal will work best for those two teams.
