However, there is good news to report for fans of the Ball State Cardinals who unveiled new all-black uniforms and matte helmets from Nike on Friday morning that is sure to excite the players, fans and alumni of the program in Muncie, Indiana.

Fresh after coming off a grueling summer conditioning session that saw them run 30, 110-yard sprints in the early hours, the Cardinals were treated to a fresh new look waiting for them in their lockers.

“You realize that something in there is big and kind of a big deal,” Tight end Sam Brunner tells the Indy Star. “I didn’t really know what it was until I walked in there, and yeah, everybody was just going crazy.”

“I see the program changing, bringing in things that we didn’t have before,” running back Jahwan Edwards said. “I always thought it was tradition to have white helmets. I see, winning, we can make things happen. Guys are grateful, ready to perform in those new helmets and new pants.”

If you buy into the belief of, “look good, play good,” Ball State could be in line for a another 10-win season. The Cardinals went 10-3 last season, going 7-1 in the Mid-American Conference and playing in the GoDaddy Bowl.
