When 4-star running back Jordan Scarlett committed to Florida Atlantic this past December, it raised quite a few eyebrows. However, it has taken exactly seven months and Scarlett has decided to reopen his commitment.

More from College Football

Scarlett, the nation’s No. 99-ranked player by the 247Sports composite,  has been one of the most highly sought after recruits in South Florida. The Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas product has had the likes of Florida State, Miami and Wisconsin heavily recruiting him despite the early commitment to the Owls.

Despite the heavy interest, Scarlett had previously refused to decommit and made sure to speak highly of his commitment to the Owls. However, it appears that he has had a change of mind on the role he would have to play at FAU.

The 5’10”, 200-pound running back will now apparently be listening to the offers from Florida State, Miami, Ohio State and South Carolina.

According to the 247Sports report, Scarlett just began to not feel right about the situation at FAU for himself.

“It wasn’t best for me,” Scarlett said about his previous commitment to the Owls.

He is the No. 11-ranked running back in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings and the No. 17-ranked player in the state of Florida.
