The Miami Heat went out in the 2014 NBA Draft and they got themselves maybe the best overall point guard in the group in Shabazz Napier via a trade with the Charlotte Hornets. Dating back to the NCAA Tournament when Napier really burst onto the national stage, it’s been no secret that LeBron James is one of his biggest fans.

With that, the speculation immediately began as to whether or not that move was made specifically to lure James to re-sign with the Heat after he opted out of his contract earlier this week.
Whether or not that’s the case, we may never know, but we do know that Napier would love to do all he could to get LeBron back to Miami so they could start doing work together.
“He’s one of the best players in the world, so if me going there helps him come back, it just betters our chances of being a complete team,” Napier said. “But at the end of the day, my job is to get to improve and work on my game so when it comes to the stage where it’s my first game, I’m ready to compete, and I’m prepared.”
Napier also explained a little bit about their relationship together.
“I would love it [if James returned to Miami],” Napier said. “Me and LeBron’s relationship, he’s a great guy. I’ve been to his camps. Me and him chatted a few times at his camps. He’s just a special thing. My agent just told me that he tweeted something out about me just now. It’s just something special to know that one of the best players in the world thinks about you and appreciates your talent. That’s something that I’m so humble for.”
If LeBron does return, if Napier progresses as much as everyone expects him to, then this could be a dangerous tandem.
