Right now, customers are struggling to log into the My Verizon portal on mobile devices or the web.  While being locked out, users aren’t able to see billing information, usage details, or many other functions.  In some stores, customers are not even able to buy phones at the present time.

While the self-serve systems that most customers access being down isn’t great, Verizon is struggling with outages throughout its own stores reports Mashable.

Due to multiple complaints throughout the Twitterverse, it seems as this problem is widespread across the country.  Right now, Verizon hasn’t said how many customers are affected, but the number looks to be quite large.  At this point, it doesn’t appear that the issue is doing anything to the service of users phones however.

With many retailers putting out phones or deals for yearly 4th of July sales, the outage comes at a very inopportune time.  Many Verizon stores are unable to sell phones to customers through the outage, which no doubt hurts the company’s overall bottom line.

Walmart recently announced price cuts on the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C offering them at $99 and $29 respectively, and while customers may be able to purchase the phones, activation could pose a whole different issue.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the situation.
