Fantasy Baseball: Kevin Gausman headlines Week 14 streaming options

Last week in my post for Week 13 streaming options, I touched on four starters that would be great plug-and-plays. If you started Jake Arrieta or Charlie Morton you were probably pretty happy as they both recorded wins, solid starts, and strikeouts aplenty. Arrieta’s ownership in Yahoo! leagues has since jumped to 56% so the window to grab him is closing quickly.

Let’s take a look at four more great options. In deeper leagues these guys are likely owned, but consider these streamers for standard leagues with Week 14 around the corner.

Kevin Gausman (24% owned, Yahoo!)
Next start: TBD (July 2nd vs Texas?)
Notes: The lefty Oriole continues to find the stream a third consecutive week. Gausman threw six innings of shutout ball in his last start, getting the win against the struggling Rays. He’s starting the nightcap of the doubleheader Friday versus the Rays, and with Bud Norris hurt for a little while, Gausman will likely have another home start next week. He has plenty of upside.

Jake Odorizzi (17% owned)
Next start: July 2nd @ New York Yankees
Notes: Jake likes his eggs Odorizzi and he put up goose eggs on the scoreboard in seven-plus innings last week against the Astros. He has a tasty 10.1 K/9 this year, which is not easy to find off the wire, and the Yankees have struggled scoring runs this month.

Jesse Hahn (21% owned)
Next start: June 30th vs Cincinnati
Notes: Hahn should not be left solo! Be his Chewy for next week and add him to your roster. He’s been a top-20 starting pitcher in Yahoo! leagues the past two weeks with a 0.95 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, and 10.4 K/9. He gets two home starts in roomy Petco next week, the first against the Reds, and the Giants after that.

Marcus Stroman (16% owned)
Next start: July 4th @ Oakland
Notes: When Stroman first reached the bigs I hoped he would deliver quality innings with nice strikeout ratios, but he got lit up a couple times. Since then, however, he’s given up just one earned run in three of his last five starts.  He is posting a respectable 2.43 ERA and 7.9 K/9 in that span. He’s got strikeout potential and the Oakland Coliseum could help suppress runs. Here’s to hoping Stroman can provide fantasy fireworks this Independence Day.
