On Saturday, Heat guard Dwyane Wade followed suit, deciding he would also become an unrestricted free agent.
Just minutes after the report of Wade’s decision, Heat big man Chris Bosh followed suit.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, Bosh will also be opting out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent.
Chris Broussard of ESPN.com reports Bosh is looking for a five-year deal worth between $15 million and $16 million per season.
Because of the CBA, the Heat are the only team who can actually offer Bosh a five-year deal. All other teams can’t go beyond four years to lock Bosh down.
With all of the big three opting out, they could now take less money and it actually makes it more likely the three remain with the Heat.
Bosh averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 51.6% from the floor, 33.9% from beyond the arc and 82.0% from the free throw line this season. In the postseason, Bosh went for 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 50.7% from the field, 40.5% from three and 75.0% from the charity stripe.
