Kris Humphries rumors: Wizards, Hornets considered front runners
By Bryan Rose
While the Boston Celtics appeared to initially have some interest in re-signing Kris Humphries this offseason, it appears as if they’ve backed off such a sentiment. Why exactly is currently unknown, but it’s believed that the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets have emerged as the front runners to sign the power forward.

Kris Humphries, who is likely best known for his short duration marriage to Kim Kardashian, has emerged as a very solid player in recent years especially in the rebounding department. Both the Wizards and Hornets are in need of such and Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe has been told they’re the two teams who are actively chasing the former Minnesota star.
Of course, if things come down to money, that might not play into the favor of the Wizards who have already re-signed Marcin Gortat and are looking to do the same with Trevor Ariza. That isn’t likely to leave much change for Kris Humphries which could benefit the Charlotte Hornets as they have money to spend.
Granted, Humphries probably isn’t the type of player Michael Jordan was referencing when he suggested he wanted to add a star in free agency, but it’s not like the Hornets are a hotbed for free agent activity either.
Still just 28-years-old, Kris Humphries – assuming the contract isn’t absurd – could make himself a relatively solid signing for a team in need of some muscle on the glass as he hauled in nearly six per game last season despite playing just twenty minutes per contest.
