Andre Johnsons tells Houston Texans he wants out

The divide between the Houston Texans and Andre Johnson was already bad enough, but it appears to only be growing stronger as the talented wide receiver has allegedly informed the team that he no longer wants to play for them.

That’s the word from NFL insider Ian Rapoport who states that Andre Johnson informed the Houston Texans he wanted to earn back the $1 million dollar bonus he lost over missing time. Not willing to do so, the Houston Texans told him that wasn’t possible which apparently forced the hand of the Pro Bowl talent to inform the team he wants out.
According to Rapoport, so far the Houston Texans are resisting on his soft request.
While the two sides haven’t exactly been cordial to each other in the past few weeks and months, I’m not sure many expected Andre Johnson to go this far.
There were rumors that the Houston Texans were looking to trade Johnson after his holdout during minicamp but weren’t able to find any deals that would benefit the organization as the money owed to the wideout would put a dent in Houston’s cap hold.
A once proud marriage, Andre Johnson was allegedly unhappy with how the Texans handled their offseason and is understandably not thrilled to be catching passes from a sub-par collection of quarterbacks after the team elected to trade Matt Schaub to the Oakland Raiders.
An 11-year veteran, Andre Johnson has played his entire career with the Houston Texans organization and it appears their once happy marriage is heading for a nasty divorce.
