The Cleveland Browns went from trying to figure out who was going to play quarterback last year to having a quarterback controversy on their hands. The Browns drafted Johnny Manziel with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and he will compete with veteran Brian Hoyer.

In a brief stint at quarterback in the 2013 season, Hoyer led the Browns to some wins before being injured for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. Hoyer told 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland that he is ready for training camp and ready for the football season to get underway.
“Yes. I’m actually anxious to get back. I got a few guys in town,” Hoyer said. “I’m throwing with [Andrew] Hawkins, throwing with Charles Johnson and some of the other guys are coming back so slowly but surely we’re getting ready to go and I’m just excited. You know I put in a lot of hard work in and now I’m just ready to play.”
There will be no easing into football activities at training camp. When asked if he was ready for training camp Hoyer said, “Yeah, no doubt. No doubt. I’m ready to go so can’t wait for day 1.”
