As we’ve seen far too many times before, being a great basketball player doesn’t make you a great basketball mind off the court. Sure, there have been players like Jerry West, Larry Bird and Danny Ainge who’ve not only dominated on the floor but in the front office and/or on the sidelines as well.

More from Chicago Bulls

Of course, there have been multiple other legends who’ve struggled with the transition like Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

So it’s obviously with a grain of salt that we take Magic Johnson’s most recent ‘power rankings’ tweet in which he claims the Chicago Bulls are the best team in the Eastern Conference, giving them props over the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers.

Normally Johnson’s tweets are so completely outlandish (even basketball related ones) that you can’t help but have a chuckle, though there are arguments to be made for all sides here regarding who is atop the NBA’s Eastern Conference as we transition through the offseason.

With a healthy Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol, it’s completely within the realm of possibility that the Chicago Bulls are indeed the East’s top team. Of course, it’s hard to go against LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers, especially with Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins. You can’t leave out the Indiana Pacers as well, who for the vast majority of the 2012-13 season destroyed anything in front of them.

So how say you, FanSided? Is Magic correct in his power ranking with the Chicago Bulls on top? Or should the Cavaliers or Pacers move up at all?
