One other major change that will be taking place because of this will be the implementation of a new trophy, a trophy that was unveiled by the College Football Playoff on Monday morning.
When all is said and done next January inside AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, and someone has won the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, they will not be awarded the traditional crystal ball, rather they will have some new hardware that they can sport in the trophy case at their university.
To get this coveted new trophy when the rigorous season comes to a close, the four selected teams will first square off against one another in the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl respectively. For this season, these are where the semifinals will be held before the winners move on to Dallas. Each year, the locations will rotate between the aforementioned sites and the Peach, Cotton, Orange and Fiesta Bowls.
However, that’s still a long ways away. What’s important on this Monday morning is the revelation of the trophy college football teams will now be tying to capture every year, and you can check it out in the photos below.
