Lombardi Award watch list released for 2014 college football season

The Lombardi Award website has released it’s 2014 watch list.

The award is given out annually to the best lineman, offensive or defensive, in college football.  Linebackers can also be eligible if they line up within five yards of the line of scrimmage.

A couple of things stand out about this list.  One: it’s long.  Longer than usual.  Of course, it will be whittled down over the course of the season.  There will just be more whittling than usual.  Two: Fresno State and Louisiana-Lafayette are well represented.  Will that translate to on-field wins?
