The on-again-off-again trade talks between Myers’ Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves went back and forth in the days leading up to the NBA draft however an alleged instance not to trade Klay Thompson all but killed the deal.
Maybe there has been a change of heart however as Jon Krawczynski says the two sides have re-kindled trade talks around Kevin Love.
It’s been continually rumored that the Timberwolves felt they’d be able to get more out of potential trade offers if they waited until July to make a move and that could be a reason as to why the talks have allegedly resumed. Talks may have also re-kindled because of the Cleveland Cavaliers interest in acquiring Kevin Love to pair with LeBron James and Andrew Wiggins.
Knowing their opportunity to close on a deal involving Kevin Love may be running out, the Warriors could be trying to make one last ditch effort to acquire the All-Star big man.
In addition to the Warriors, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, the Phoenix Suns are also said to be interested in trading for Love and they have plenty of pieces (and cap space) to do so. Given that, it should be one heck of a race to acquire the services of Kevin Love.
