What Seattle needs is power hitting and right handed power hitting to be specific and that’s something they may find in Kansas City Royals slugger Billy Butler.
According to Jerry Crasnick from ESPN.com, the Mariners and Royyals have been talking about a possible Billy Butler trade that would send the power hitter to Seattle.
The talks aren’t new though, as the weekend was apparently filled with talks between the M’s and Royals over who might fit the best in a trade offer that lands Seattle the struggling slugger.
The Mariners look to be buyers this year at the deadline, which is a shift from where they used to be in years past. That doesn’t mean they’ll get anything r do the right thing, but rather the Mariners are being aggressive for once at the deadline and that’s more than fans could have expected given the performances from years past.
