The Falcons are another team whose 2013 finish was mostly due to injuries to key players. Their 4-12 record had them in an unfamiliar spot considering where they have been in recent years. The core of the team is still intact, and they’ve invested their first round draft pick in solidifying the offensive line. No time like the present for Matt Ryan to quiet his critics on whether or not he can be that “elite” quarterback that his contract suggests he is.

The Falcons have some question marks on the defense and the NFC South is looking a lot more competitive with Tampa Bay also showing signs of ascension. But, the Falcons were so close to clinching a Super Bowl spot in 2012 that they just have to put last season behind them and be able to bounce back from injuries.
