Don’t poke the bear when he’s in hibernation, or in the case of Kevin Durant don’t remind him of the name Devin Ebanks and April of 2012. It appears that Durant doesn’t take to kindly to being reminded of the Lakers’ Ebanks and what he allegedly did to Durant in a game during 2012.

More from Kevin Durant

Either that or be prepared for a Twitter war of words. That’s the lesson a former teammate of Ebanks’ from West Virginia found out the hard way.

John Banks, who apparently got the attention he was looking for, tagged Durant in a post mentioning Ebanks shutting him down to 5-of-19 shooting.

Durant couldn’t let it all slide and apparently the two went at it for over an hour in a Twitter back and forth.

Durant wasn’t one to give in to the fact that Ebanks had much of anything to do with his off night, responding with this tweet:

He continued to not give Ebanks credit for his performance on the defensive side of the ball with a series of tweets:

This is just one of the latest examples of great players taking motivation from nearly anywhere. Remembering the details of your performance in one game out of 82 from a season two years ago clearly shows just how long Durant’s memory is.
