The Buffalo Bills franchise unveiled their new season ticket “member cards” today. Instead of receiving tickets for each individual home game, Bills’ season ticket holders will be given a member card that will work at all of the home games.

More from Buffalo Bills

At first glance, this seems like an ingenious idea from the Bills franchise to save on paper and start a potentially new trend around the NFL in regards to season ticket member cards.

One of the issues that may arise with the new season ticket member cards is the fact that some season ticket holders can not, and do not want to, go to every single game.

In previous years, Bills season ticket holders were able to sell their individual tickets to fans that wanted to attend the game, but with the new cards that seems unlikely. There is no word yet as to whether or not Bills season ticket holders have the option to print out actual game tickets.

The Bills may have created the member cards with the intention of impeding third party ticket sales. If so, it will be interesting to see if there is any backlash from fans that prefer single game tickets.
