Doug Marrone: Thad Lewis, Jeff Tuel in ‘battle’ for No. 2 QB spot
By Dan Zinski
Who will be the #2 QB in Buffalo behind starter E.J. Manuel? It’s a question I know you have been asking yourself. Maybe you are even having trouble sleeping because of that question.

Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone is not yet ready to offer an answer, except to say that there is a battle going on between the two men currently in the running. Those two men would be Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel.
A gold star for all of you who could name the Bills’ other two quarterbacks without looking it up.
Thad Lewis is possibly the front runner in this battle, given that he started five games last year, going 2-3 with passer rating of 81.0.
But don’t forget about Jeff Tuel, who also has one NFL start under his belt (a loss in which he was picked off three times on his way to a passer rating of 45.1).
Doug Marrone and his coaching staff are going to have a hard time choosing between two such worthy combatants. Will it be the 23-year-old Tuel or the 26-year-old Lewis?
Do you go with relative experience over relative rawness? Do you pick the guy you think has the most upside? Do you go with the player who comes closest to approximating the skill set of your starter, making it easier on your offense if you are forced to go to him in a pinch?
Or do you just flip a coin at this point? And hope like hell that nothing happens to E.J. Manuel.
