TCU defensive ends Devonte Fields has found himself in some more trouble with the law, as the Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting that Fields is under investigation for allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a gun and the punching her.

A police spokesman did confirm that he is a suspect in the case, however he has not been arrested and taken into custody.
“Devonte Fields has been listed as a suspect on a domestic disturbance in Fort Worth,” confirmed Sgt. Raymond Bush, a police spokesman. “He has not been arrested.”
Fields served a suspension during the beginning of last season for an off-the-field incident before a foot injury ended his campaign for good.
At the recent Big 12 Media Days, the media voted him as the preseason Defensive Player of the Year in the conference, which drew a lot of eyebrow raising, including from head coach Gary Patterson himself.
“I was kind of surprised Devonte Fields was (the pick) because he hadn’t played a year ago,” Patterson said. “I haven’t watched him since you watched him.”
Well now it seems as if we, nor coach Patterson, might not get to watch him at all this season. Should the investigation find him to be guilty in this matter, it’s highly unlikely that he will see the field this season for the Horned Frogs.
Fields’ girlfriend stated in the police report that he was repeatedly threatening her with the gun until he finally struck her.
“Haley stated that Devonte continued to yell at her and punched her in the face one time with a closed fist,” the report states
Not good news for the Horned Frogs football program.
