Barron’s body, with the concert tickets still in his pocket, turned up at Lorain County landfill, the place where trash from Progressive Field gets taken. The mystery then surrounds how Barron ended up in a dumpster, loaded onto a garbage truck and in a landfill. According to the report in the video below, the only way to access the dumpster in the basement is through a trash chute not much wider than shoulder’s width.
Police are investigating the possibility that he fell down the chute and are still trying to figure out what the cause of death is specifically. The cause of death could impact whether police investigate it as a homicide or not, but there were reportedly no signs of injury.
The Indians released the following statement: “The Cleveland Indians are saddened by the news of Cory Barron’s untimely death and wish to extend their sincere condolences to the Barron family and friends. We are cooperating with the authorities in their investigation and do not have additional comment at this time.”
