Denver Nuggets to sign Erick Green
One of the biggest reasons the Denver Nuggets missed the postseason for the first time since 2003 in 2014 was the rash of injuries that went through. Although they lost center JaVale McGee and swingman Danilo Gallinari for the entire season, perhaps no position was hit worse than point guard. Ty Lawson missed 20 games last season and his replacement, Nate Robinson, tore his ACL in late January. That’s why the Nuggets have been looking for a third point guard.

Christopher Dempsey of The Denver Post confirmed a report from Nikos Varlas of Eurohoops that the Nuggets have agreed to a deal with free agent point guard Erick Green.
"Point guard Erick Green fought through an exhaustive schedule in the last year to prove he belongs on an NBA roster — the Nuggets’ roster — and now he’s played his way in.Green will sign a contract with the Nuggets, a source confirmed, and will be with the team when training camp starts in the fall. Green was a second-round pick in the 2013 NBA draft out of Virginia Tech. His rights were traded to the Nuggets from Utah but he did not latch on. He played last season in Italy. The Nuggets had a need for a third point guard, and the high-scoring Green is well-equipped to fit that role. With him in the fold, the Nuggets now have 14 guaranteed contracts on the team. The deal was first reported by Eurohoops."
Playing with the Nuggets in the Las Vegas Pro Summer League, Green averaged 16.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. The 2013 ACC Co-Player of the Year played for Montepaschi Siena in Italy last season.
