No one is going to argue that Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday has one of the biggest cannons in college football. The kid can sling it all over the field. But the problem is that sometimes he throws it to the wrong team. Last season, Halliday finished the year with nearly 5,000 yards through the air, but 22 interceptions also.

So of course you would think that Halliday would want to cut that number down quite a bit heading into this season, and he does. Although not many would agree with the way that he explained it.
In talking about limiting his interceptions recently, Halliday stated that he would like to limit those picks to two per game, maximum.
“The biggest deal is limiting (interceptions) to 1-2 times a game. Not having the four picks against Oregon or the three picks against Auburn,” Halliday said, referencing two of his more frustrating games in 2013. “Limit it to one or two and bounce back right afterward. Don’t let it frustrate me for the rest of the game or the rest of the drive.”
Yeah, that probably could have been worded a little better, but hey, maybe he just likes to be realistic.
Halliday is one of the key cogs this season in helping the Cougars try to get back to the top of the Pac-12, so we’ll see if he can ultimately cut down on those picks this season.
