The Los Angeles Lakers introduced Jeremy Lin as their new point guard on Thursday morning and the California native couldn’t help but grin ear to ear.

Set to wear No. 17 this season, Lin met with the Southern California media for the first time and expressed happiness that he’ll get to play for a franchise with such tradition. He also stated that he was thrilled to be in position to play alongside a player as great as Kobe Bryant.
Jeremy Lin raved about Bryant’s game and stated that he’s been able to play with a lot of great players during his career with Kobe Bryant potentially topping the list. There was a noticeable name left off the list though, as noted by Dave McMenamin.
Jeremy Lin: "I've had the privilege to play with a few very good players in Carmelo, James (Harden) and now Kobe..." No mention of Dwight.

Some might point to a potentially salty relationship between Jeremy Lin and Dwight Howard, but during Lin’s tenure with the New York Knicks he wasn’t exactly best buddies with Carmelo Anthony either. Was it just a slip of the mind? Or does Jeremy Lin not think of Dwight Howard as a ‘great’ player? Considering he’s only played on two teams (three if his short stint with the Warriors counts) with just a few All-Star’s, it seems a little odd that he’d just randomly forget about Dwight Howard while remembering to rattle off James Harden.
We’ll likely never know if there was more to it or Lin just honestly had a brain fart, though it certainly makes the mind wonder.
Jeremy Lin also stated that he has the least amount of pressure on his shoulders that he’s ever had and hopes it translates into an even more productive season.
