The Los Angeles Dodgers are said to have had trade conversations with both the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays regarding All-Star pitcher’s Jon Lester and David Price. It’s not known how advanced either scenario was, though a trade for an ‘elite’ starter is said to be unlikely.

That’s the word from Ken Gurnick of MLB.com who reports that Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti is not thrilled with the notion of moving a combination of top prospects for either arm.
"Adding to previous speculation regarding deals for Tampa Bay’s David Price and Philadelphia’s Cole Hamels, the name of Boston’s Jon Lester is circulating in Dodgers circles, although Colletti said he still isn’t interested in trading the organization’s three elite prospects — Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Julio Urias — that it would take in some combination to land an elite veteran pitcher."
This seems to be a subject many Dodgers fans are torn on considering an addition of Price, Lester or even Hamels would make Los Angeles the favorite going into October. Add in that Price and Hamels are signed beyond this season and it’s very possible a rotation consisting of Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke and one of the previously mentioned arms would morph into a dynasty.
Of course, that does come at the expense of losing some of the premier prospects in baseball, but when a chance for a World Series and possible dynasty emerge, it becomes a difficult decision to make.
Colleti went on to say that the Los Angeles Dodgers may not make any moves before the July 31st trade deadline.
