Welcome back to “Off The Deep End”, where I will give you fantasy baseball tips on who to pick up in deeper leagues. For people who play standard leagues, drop/add columns are easy for you to find, but for those of you that love deeper leagues, advice can be harder to come by. That is where I can help. All of these players are available in 85% or more of ESPN leagues.

This time around we will do things a little differently. I will only do one position at a time, but I will give you advice on who to drop as well.
This piece will focus on second basemen. The catchers are here. The first basemen are here. The second basemen are here. The shortstops are here.

Add:
Trevor Plouffe, Twins: Plouffe is hitting .268 wtih a homer, three RBI, and four doubles since the break. While the production is not great, we all know he has the power to make him an intriguing deep league add.
Mike Moustakas, Royals: Moose finally seems to be getting on track. He has three homers since the break and is hitting .250 over that span. While not great, his power is at least helping you now without destroying your batting average.
Cody Asche, Phillies: Asche has not shown much for power, but he has four RBI and a 268 average since the break.
Drop:
David Freese, Angels: He showed signs of life for a while, but now his average in trending downward again, and he doesn’t provide much for counting stats. If you’re going to settle, at least get someone who is hitting for a respectable average.
Eugenio Suarez, Tigers: He has gone cold lately, to the tune of a .179 average over the last two weeks. That, and I don’t think the Tigers will let Thursday pass without upgrading at shortstop.
