Eric Bledsoe rumors: Phoenix Suns offering new contract?
By Bryan Rose
The Phoenix Suns have restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe in a bit of a bind. Given the Philadelphia 76ers the only team with enough available cap space to make Bledsoe an offer (and a lack of interest), it seems as if the only options for the guard are to push for a sign-and-trade or re-sign with the team.

Rumored to be far apart in their contractual talks, it seems as if the Phoenix Suns would like to expedite the stalemate and according to Basketball Insiders, they may be preparing a new contract for Eric Bledsoe.
"Sources say there continues to be ongoing dialogue towards a deal and there is some sense that the Suns might increase their offer slightly; there has also been talk that Bledsoe’s camp might agree to a short-term deal that gets Bledsoe into free agency again inside the next three seasons."
While it’s a little odd that Eric Bledsoe has yet to sign on the dotted line, a restricted free agent waiting until August to sign a deal isn’t unheard of. In fact, it happened in the somewhat recent past as Nikola Pekovic of the Minnesota Timberwolves went through a similar scenario before signing a long-term extension.
That doesn’t appear to be something that Eric Bledsoe is interested in, though if the Phoenix Suns are open to giving him a shorter contract it appears the two sides could make some ground on a new deal.
As far as raising the offer, it is not known how much the Phoenix Suns are willing to go financially.
