Kevin Durant rumors: Things would have to go ‘epically bad’ for Durant to leave Thunder
Over the last few years, the most talked about free agent has been LeBron James (and rightfully so). James left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat but returned to the Cavaliers after four years earlier this month.

Although James will again be a free agent in two years (and maybe even next year), the next free agent superstar who will be looked at for some time leading up to his free agency will likely be Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant. There has been a lot of speculation that Durant could return to his home as well and sign with the Washington Wizards, joining their dynamic young back court of John Wall and Bradley Beal.
The Los Angeles Lakers have made Durant their “main target” in 2016 and the Golden State Warriors are also reportedly going to target Durant (as will every other team in the league), but Durant has never given any indication that he is unhappy in Oklahoma City. In fact, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders believes things would have to go “epically bad” for him to leave the Thunder.
"Yeah… Going home is the theme right?… I think you to be in a position if KD wants to look, but I think things would have to go epically bad for him to leave OKC."
Durant averaged 27.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 50.3% from the field, 39.1% from beyond the arc and 87.3% from the free throw line during the regular season. Then, he averaged 32.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 46.0% from the floor, 34.4% from beyond the arc and 81.0% from the charity stripe in the postseason.
