Not even a week ago the Los Angeles Dodgers were allegedly chomping at the bit to trade away former All-Star outfielder, Matt Kemp. Of course, that was before Kemp was moved to right field.

Now playing his former position, the temperamental talent seems to have not only calmed down but is playing really well. Given that, it’s possible that the Los Angeles Dodgers may not trade Matt Kemp, at least not right now.
That’s the word from ESPN’s Jayson Stark who says Los Angeles may keep Kemp and look at trades down the line.
"Despite reports of a Matt Kemp-for-Lester deal, and rumblings of Kemp landing in Seattle, other clubs report the Dodgers appear more likely to revisit trading Kemp next winter than in July."
It’s a tangled web for the Dodgers considering Matt Kemp is one of their most talented players outside of Yasiel Puig when he’s motivated and playing healthy. Add in that he is now happy in right field and trading the former near MVP seems almost like a questionable move considering the return will likely be minimal.
Stark goes on to state that an American League general manager considers the rumored trade of Matt Kemp for Jon Lester rubbish given the amount of money left on Kemp’s deal and the fact that Lester is nothing more than a short-term rental.
The Seattle Mariners have also expressed trade interest in Matt Kemp, though are said to consider him a backup plan at most.
Certainly should be an interesting few days for the Dodgers.
