Welcome back to “Off The Deep End”, where I will give you fantasy baseball tips on who to pick up in deeper leagues. For people who play standard leagues, drop/add columns are easy for you to find, but for those of you that love deeper leagues, advice can be harder to come by. That is where I can help. All of these players are available in 85% or more of ESPN leagues.

This time around we will do things a little differently. I will only do one position at a time, but I will give you advice on who to drop as well.

Add:
Grady Sizemore, Phillies: He probably doesn’t have the 20/20 potential that he did in Cleveland, but he is getting regular playing time in the Phillies outfield, and is making the most of it. Sizemore is hitting .319 in a Phillies uniform, and has scored seven runs. He wont’ get you much for homers or steals anymore, but a good average can really help in deep leagues. So can the runs.
David Peralta, Diamondbacks: Peralta sometimes has a hard time cracking the lineup with a crowded outfield in Arizona, but if they do trade Gerardo Parra, Peralta would benefit the most. He is hitting .323 since the break with a pair of triples for those of you in 10×10 leagues.

Anthony Gose, Blue Jays: Gose has five steals in the last week. Pick him up while you still can if you need speed.
Gregor Blanco, Giants: He doesn’t provide a lot of anything, but he has a .289 average since the break and a pair of steals. He can be of use in most deep leagues.
Efren Navarro, Angels: He is getting some consistent playing time, and is doing quite well with it. Navarro has a .333 average since the break, and hit his first career homer yesterday. He could be a solid producer while Josh Hamilton is out.
Josh Willingham, Twins: He has two homers this week, and could finally be warming up. He is worth picking up to find out.
Drop:
Corey Hart, Mariners: The struggling Hart is hitting just .179 since the break with one RBI. The acquisition of Kendrys Morales will likely cut into his at-bats, at least in the short term. Until he proves he can produce again, he is better left on the wire.
James Jones, Mariners: It is hard to give up on this kind of speed, but he can’t steal bases if he can’t get on base first. He is hitting just .136 since the break. Anthony Gose is a much better option right now.
Carl Crawford, Dodgers: Crawford is hitting just .156 since the All Star break in semi-regular playing time. The Dodgers shopping Matt Kemp is not to give Crawford an everyday role. It is to get uber-prospect Joc Pederson into the lineup. Crawford will still be the odd man out, especially given his struggles.
Steve Pearce, Orioles: It was fun while it lasted, but Pearce is ice cold right now. He has just one home run since July 2nd, and owns a meager .172 average over the last two weeks. Baltimore is phasing him out, so you probably should as well.
