With all of the focus on his offseason partying, everyone wondered what kind of mentality that Johnny Manziel would bring into Cleveland Browns training camp, when it was time to get down to business. Apparently, his attitude has been nothing short of that of someone who wants to make an impact early on.
According to NFL.com’s Charley Casserly, Manziel has taken the approach of a leader by being the first one to walk in the door and get to work, and being the last one to leave the facility at night.
"Despite all the off-field white noise, Manziel was described to Casserly by multiple team sources as bringing a “first-in, last-out mentality” and showing up to camp with a better knowledge of the offense. Verbiage is the biggest challenge for Manziel, but Casserly was told the rookie is “doing fine” with that aspect of the playbook."
While everyone will knock the way that he carries himself off the field, there is no denying that Manziel is a hard worker when he has to be. If you tell him that he can’t do something, then he’s going to take all the time that he needs to prove to you that he can.

Now whether or not this mentality sticks throughout the season and he remains this devoted, we’ll have to wait and see to find that out.
But for right now, everyone who thought he would begin to flame out once an NFL training camp got underway, they’re slowly being proven wrong.
