One reason the Royals wanted to get in on the trade market this year is because of their push to make the postseason. Usually the Royals fall off at some point during the season and it appears this is that time of year now. But while they may be looking at possibly falling out of the pennant race, they won’t be without one of their sluggers like they thought they might.
According to Royals beat writer Andy McCollough, Eric Hosmer won’t need surgery and isn’t expected to be out as long as previously feared.
Hosmer has been a big part of the Royals success this season and has been growing into a big part of the team, but it’s looking like the Royals will again be falling off the map and Hosmer’s injury may end up being insignificant at the end of the day.
