The Milwaukee Brewers didn’t pull off a huge trade before the deadline passed but that wasn’t for a lack of trying.

More from Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee did pull off a trade but not for any of the big names they were rumored to be involved with. It has been an upswing season for the Brewers, which was why so many analysts thought they might make a big move.

According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brewers were busy before the deadline passed on Thursday and were inquiring about names such as LaTroy Hawkins, Addison Reed and others.

The Brewers were actually in on a few bigger trades that went down, as they had interest in David Price and were rumored with some of the other bigger names floating around. But it was all for naught, as the Brewers failed to pick up anyone of real significance at the deadline, despite apparently going hard to try and produce the opposite outcome.
