Chicago Bulls star and former league MVP Derrick Rose has previously stated that he’s no longer worried about his problematic knees. Fresh off two back-to-back significant injuries, such a sentiment is difficult to believe considering Rose has played in just ten games during the past two years.

More from Chicago Bulls

However, there seems to be merit behind Rose’s admission as the Chicago Bulls guard was among the most impressive players during Team USA’s training camp. Not only were coaches and members of the media impressed with what Derrick Rose was doing, so where his teammates. Multiple players stated that Rose was the best player on the court and Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond said he was a ‘Ferrari among Nissan’s‘ on the hardwood.

Fans couldn’t get over how good Derrick Rose looked and couldn’t help but cheer for the former Memphis Tiger as he put on dunking exhibitions during Friday night’s layup line.

In fact, one of the loudest ovations of the night was for Rose on a missed dunk.

Backing up to get a little additional speed and elevation, Derrick Rose skied towards the rim and although he wasn’t able to keep his handles, D-Rose was level with the rim at one point during the botched dunk attempt.

That in itself was plenty enough to get the crowd going.

I guess it’s safe to say that he really wasn’t giving a standardized answer when he said he wasn’t worried about his knees and that he felt healthy.

That’s impressive for any player, let alone a point guard coming off two gnarly knee operations.
