College football rankings 2014: FCS preseason Coaches Poll released; North Dakota State on top
By Jack Crosby
As we get set for what should be another exciting college football season coming up in just a few short weeks, let’s also not forget how much we love the action of the FCS. And with that being said, just a short time ago, the preseason Coaches Poll was released, and there is really no surprise as to who’s sitting at the top.
Before the season gets underway, none other than the North Dakota State Bison were the ones that were tabbed by the coaches as the best team in the land at the FCS level. ‘
Here’s a look at how the top 10 played out.
Again, given the recent string of success the program has had as of late, there’s really no reason for anyone other than North Dakota State to be on top.

This team ran away with yet another national championship last season, but people may have been more impressed with what they did to open their season last year.
In their opener, on national television, North Dakota State knocked off the defending Big 12 Champion Kansas State Wildcats, showing they were not a program to be taken lightly. From there, their year would get even better as they even got a visit from the College GameDay crew.
Whether or not they can follow all of that up this season with another huge year remains to be seen, but they will start that journey at the top spot in the Coaches rankings.
