Josh Gordon will have to wait to hear the NFL’s amended ruling after he appealed the decision to ban him for the entire 2014 season. That doesn’t mean he has to wait to hit the practice field once more.

ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi reports that Gordon is out on the field today ready for practice. Gordon’s appeals hearing stretched through all of Friday and was scheduled to continue on Monday, but none of that is going to stop the superstar wide receiver from getting in his reps.
With Brian Hoyer and Johnny Manziel dueling for the top quarterback position on the team, having an integral receiver like Gordon on the roster can be a huge boon to the team, even in the confines of practice.
Even as Gordon gets flayed for issues leading to his suspension, it’s encouraging for the Browns to see he’s still committed to the team even in a summer that precedes what will surely be a fall spent mostly without Gordon. Even if he wins the appeal, Gordon can expect to miss a good chunk of time in 2014. At least for now, the Browns can count on his presence as the team continues to stand by their troubled young franchise receiver.
