Depending on who you believe, there may be a handshake agreement in place between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves to send No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins (along with additional assets) to Minnesota in exchange for disgruntled power forward Kevin Love.

To pile on top of that rumor, word has also leaked of a potential third team being involved in those trade talks – the Philadelphia 76ers.

Coveting Sixers forward Thaddeus Young, the Timberwolves are said to prefer he in a trade as opposed to Anthony Bennett of the Cleveland Cavaliers. So in the said scenario, Philadelphia would act like a third team in the alleged deal and send Young to Minnesota in exchange for Bennett.

However, CSN Philly finds such a move perplexing.

"To think the Sixers will give up Young for Bennett’s below average numbers is hard to comprehend."

Anthony Bennett, who is just a year removed from being the No. 1 overall pick himself, had a historically bad rookie season though seemingly looked much improved as the season came to a close. Still, Thaddeus Young has proven himself to be an All-Star level talent and given Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid are already on the Philadelphia 76ers roster, you have to wonder where Anthony Bennett fits.

Is Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinke simply building up an arsenal of highly skilled though significantly flawed big men? It’s certainly an odd move, assuming the Philadelphia 76ers do make the deal and it seems to have local media and fans wondering what exactly the front office is doing.
