With it being all but a fact at this point that Josh Gordon will miss a significant amount of time for the Cleveland Browns this season, the team may certainly be looking for some more wide receiver help before the season starts. One of the names that has been rumored to fill this void is former Super Bowl hero Santonio Holmes.

But if there are any Browns fans that were in favor of this move, you might not want to hold your breath.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the team has no interest in bringing in one troubled wide receiver just to replace another.
While Holmes would provide even a minor boost, it still ultimately wouldn’t be worth it for the long haul. The team would be much better served by bringing along the other receivers on the roster already. Plus, the receiving corps might not be as bad as people thought, given the good reports that veteran Miles Austin has been getting as of late.
As of now, it’s expected that Gordon will miss at least half of the season when his suspension is announced shortly, if the league doesn’t decide to let his entire year-long ban to stand.
