Anquan Boldin excited to say goodbye to Ravens fans
By Cory Buck
Anquan Boldin didn’t get to send a proper farewell to Baltimore Ravens fans when he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers last summer. He was out of the country at the time and could do little more than pack his bags for the Bay Area upon return to the States. Now with the teams playing in an upcoming preseason game, Boldin will finally get his chance to say goodbye to the fans for whom he and the Ravens won a Super Bowl.

“It’ll be a chance to say goodbye to the fans in a proper way,” Boldin said per the San Jose Mercury News. “I wasn’t afforded that opportunity. I got traded while I was away.”
The 49ers traded a sixth-round pick for Boldin last summer and watched Boldin flourish in 2013, posting 85 catches, 1,179 yards, and 7 TDs. It was his first 1,000 yard season since 2009 — his last with the Arizona Cardinals. Now Boldin is hoping to build on that great year with a new two-year contract awarded him this past spring.
The Baltimore Ravens host the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday at 7:30 PM. It will be the first preseason game for both teams as the NFL kicks off the bulk of its preliminary season a big way on Thursday with six games scheduled.
