DeSean Jackson ruled out for Washington Redskins preseason opener
The fans of the Washington Redskins will have to wait a little bit longer to see prized offseason acquisition, DeSean Jackson in action as he has officially been ruled out for Thursday night’s preseason opener with an ankle injury.
Jackson twisted his ankle and was forced to leave practice on Wednesday and was held out of practice on Saturday as a result of soreness in his legs.
The first preseason game doesn’t see the starters playing much more than a series or two anyway, so Jackson being held out is not a big loss, unless you are a fan in attendance and wanted to see the team’s big offseason addition, and it will give him time to get healthy for the team’s next preseason game.

Washington’s second preseason game is Monday night on Aug. 18 against the Cleveland Browns that will be aired on ESPN in a game that could have huge television ratings.
Not only will Jackson be making his team debut but Johnny Manziel will be in action for the Browns as fans outside of Washington and Cleveland will tune in in droves to see if the 2012 Heisman winner is worthy of all the attention and hype that has followed him before, during and after the draft in May.
Jackson signed a three-year deal worth $24 million on April 2 after his release from the Philadelphia Eagles.
