While the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, and other teams involved in the Kevin Love trade rumors had no problem with their negations leaking to the public, it looks like Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie is livid over the revelation that Thaddeus Young could be included in the upcoming blockbuster trade.

Trade talks leaking isn’t new–it’s apart of the game. The issue with trade talks leaking is that it screws with possible leverage going forward or could create a tumultuous relationship between the subject and front office.

For the 76ers, the latter doesn’t seem likely. For the last few years, Thaddeus Young has been one of those players who constantly remain on the trading block, but never got traded, joining the likes of Pau Gasol and Rajon Rondo. Young appearing in trade rumors won’t ruin anything now and with his deal an expiring contract, it’s a surprise the trade talks didn’t appear sooner.

What Hinkie would be angry at is the former–possibly losing leverage in talks by the deal getting revealed. Another scenario is a team outside of the trade negotiations figuring out they can trump what Philly would have to offer. We saw this recently with the Kevin Love trade rumors.

Those are the break.
