Reggie Bush compares dating Kim Kardashian to media hype around Johnny Manziel
Johnny Manziel has been the subject of non-stop media scrutiny after living in the tabloids and gossip magazines since he entered the NFL and Reggie Bush has some advice for the Browns quarterback.
You’re going to have to keep your circle small so that you can be allowed to focus on football
Bush has some experience of the Hollywood lifestyle that Manziel has been living, albeit not quite to the degree or intensity of the Cleveland Browns second-string quarterback, but the Detroit Lions running back has some sage advice for the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner.
"“It reminds me of what I went through, you know,” Bush told ESPN.com. “For him, he’s going to have to learn how to say no and that’s going to be extremely hard because it’s going to be the people closest to you who you’re going to have to learn to say no to. And then you’re going to have to keep your circle small so that you can be allowed to focus on football, because without football, nothing else is going to [matter].”"

Bush starred on the gridiron at USC where he was a two-time All-American, won a Heisman Trophy (later vacated due to NCAA violations) and won two national championships, although the 2003 title was from the AP and the 2004 title was the BCS Championship, so he was used to being in the limelight when the Saints made him the No. 2 overall pick in 2006.
However, when he started dating Kim Kardashian, Bush was really asking for it when the media attention became ugly.
“When I started dating my ex, that’s when all this stuff came,” Bush said. “But it’s part of the territory and, like I said, everything happens for a reason. … The gossip magazines and all the other stuff, the ugly side of it. But you know what, I wouldn’t change anything because it helped mold and shape who I am today and I’m a better man for it.”
Basically don’t date a Kardashian and you’ll be okay.
